Bulgaria is located in the South Eastern Europe and borders the Black sea between Romania and Turkey. In addition, it shares common borders with Greece, the former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. Strategically, Bulgaria provides a natural gateway to the large markets if CIS, Asia and North Africa.
The country benefits from a temperate continental climate with clearly marked four seasons. A mild Mediterranean influence is felt in the more southerly regions and the Ski and Spa resorts with average summer temperatures of 30 0C and an average of 1 700 sunshine hours from May to October. Winters can be cold in the other parts of the country, hence its popularity as a destination for skiers.
The total population is about 7,8 million pepole with the highest concentrations living in the major cities or towns of Sofia (the capital), Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas (the last two being cities at the Black Sea coasr wich boasts 378 km (220 miles) of sandy coastline.

International airports are located in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Burhas and connect Bulgaria to the rest of the world. Travelling time from London to Sofia is 2 hours 30 minutes and it takes 3 hours to reach DEVIN.
Devin is a popular tourist attraction. There is an abundance of hot springs and hence spa resorts in the area. The region was known in antiquity for the healing properties of its mineral springs. The waters have been claimed to treat and heal a variety of maladies: conditions of the skeletal, peripheral nervous, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, skin disorders and others. In addition to these, the water is drunk or inhaled in the treatment of respiratory diseases, allergies and infections. The conditions avilable in Devin make it a centre for recovery and stabilising health.

The situation of Devin offers access to nearby gorges, rock formations, caves, forests, natural reserves with protected and endemic species, and most of all, clean air. Namely Trigrad gorge, the Devil's Throat cave and Yagodinska cave. The Trigrad-Yagodina region has a karst scenery and has tens of other, albeit inhospitable, caves and rock formations. The protected region "Chairité" attracts visitors with an abundance of lakes, meadows and spruce and beech forests, one of which is called "the Drunken Forest" (Bulgarian: Пияната гора.) "Kastraklii", "Kazanite" and "Shabanitza" are natural reserves in the region around Devin with centuries-old pine and spruce forests and protected plant and animal communities.
There is a great deal of hydroelectric construction in the area. Agriculture is highly developed.
